Get Mass First Generation/kan College Student Scholarship Application 2012

The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholars Program supports academically outstanding students who demonstrate a financial need and represent the first generation in their families to attend college. The program provides financial aid for 12 outstanding students matriculating into UGA each year.

A first-generation college student is defined as a student from those families in which neither parent has earned a four-year undergraduate degree. 1st Gen scholars have the opportunity to participate in various professional and academic development seminars, support group meetings, and bonding events.

Generally, first generation scholarships are open to students whose parents have not earned a four year undergraduate degree. However, specific organizations and colleges may define first generation differently, so always double-check.

Awarded annually to undergraduate students who have financial need as defined by eligibility for a federal Pell grant and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 system. Preference will be given to students whose parents are not four-year college graduates.
