Welcome to Pinto Horse Association of America! Incorporated in 1956, the Pinto Horse Association of America was formed to encourage the promotion of quality horses, ponies and miniatures with color and to establish a registry for maintaining their show records and pedigrees.

Entries- There are no pre-qualifications required to enter the Pinto World Championships or the Color Breed Congress shows. All pre-entries must be postmarked by the published pre-entry deadline. Forms must be completed in full and submitted with payment in order to be accepted.

In an open registry, to outcross often means to breed a registered dog to a dog from another breed in order to bring genetic diversity and/or certain traits .

To qualify for full registration with the Pinto Horse Association of America, a horse must exhibit a cumulative four square inches of white coat with underlying pink skin in the so-called "qualifying zone." Prizes including buckles, ribbons, chairs, rose garlands, and saddles are awarded to the World Champions, Reserve World Champions or high point winners. It's a family-friendly environment with a taste of healthy competition. 2023 marks 58 years of the Pinto National show now known as the Pinto World Championship.

The only pinto pattern known to exist in American Quarter Horses is the overo (oh VEHR-oh) pattern. This includes subpatterns splash and sabino. The other pinto patterns, tobiano and tovero (a mix of tobiano and overo) have yet to be discovered in the Quarter Horse breed.

PtHA® SOLID REGISTRY These horses can be registered in our Solid Registry. Solid Pintos are only allowed to show in Solid Pinto classes. For example, but not limited to: Palomino, Buckskin, Appaloosa, POA, Arabian, Thoroughbred, Warmblood, Quarter Horse, Roan, Solid Paint etc.

Pony, Miniature, and Utility horse stallions can be registered with undocumented parentage. For example, but not limited to: Pinto, Paint, Quarter Horse, Arabian, Saddlebred, Thoroughbred, Warmblood, Draft, etc.
