The Triangle Flight of Honor has organized eight flights, each serving over 100 veterans.

A: The only spouses who are permitted to go are those who are veterans themselves. We do not have the resources, funding, or seating available to transport all the veterans who are presently on our waiting list. Adding spouses simply isn't an option for our program. Q: I am the widow of a veteran.

How do you decide which veterans get to go? Veterans are flown on a "first-come, first-served basis". Top priority is currently given to World War II veterans and veterans with terminal illness. Our second priority is to Korean War veterans and then Vietnam War veterans.

Veterans pay nothing for Honor Flight. Travel, food, and all fees are paid for by Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois through donations. Help us by sponsoring a Veteran on the next flight.

Registration & Selection Process Once a veteran application is received by our office, a letter is mailed to the veteran requesting a copy of the DD-214. Once the DD-214 is received, the veteran is placed on our active list. Flight slots are filled from this active veteran list.
