Doña Ana County Master Gardeners Program trains volunteers to assist the Doña Ana County Cooperative Extension Service faculty and staff to provide accurate, research-based gardening information and programs to county residents.

The Master Gardener Program consists of trained volunteers that assist UT Extension staff by sharing research-based information with the general public to improve community garden/landscape programs and activities.

The title of VCE Master Gardener is granted after you complete a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service conducting horticultural education projects. To complete annual recertification, you must: Contribute at least 20 hours of volunteer service each year. Participate in at least 8 hours of continuing education.

Anyone who participates in and successfully completes 40 hours of classroom education completes the first step to becoming a Master Gardener. Next, complete 40 hours of volunteer service to become certified to use the title New Mexico Master Gardener.
