Having Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis is considered a disability under the ADA. A 504 plan is a legally binding document that allows your student to have specialized accommodations due to their IBD.

Crohn's and Colitis Canada awards the AbbVie IBD Scholarship to students living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis who are entering or currently attending a Canadian post-secondary educational institute.

Is Crohn's Disease Considered A Disability? The answer to that is yes – many people with Crohn's do qualify for long term disability benefits. However, your odds of benefit approval will depend on the severity of your condition and how you present your claim to your insurance company.

Award Information This program offers financial support for students to spend time performing research on topics relevant to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), or Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, for a minimum of 10 weeks. The Foundation hopes to stimulate research interest in the area of IBD.

The AbbVie scholarship is for students living with an inflammatory disease who are seeking an undergraduate degree or graduate degree from an accredited United States university or college. scholarship are allowed to reapply in the following years.
