Your medical exam results are good for 12 months only. If you're a student or worker, your letter of introduction shows the date your results expire (if you received it after November 30, 2021). If you don't come to Canada as a visitor, student or worker within that time, you may need to do another exam.

On March 31, 2023, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it had removed the requirement that a civil surgeon's signature on Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, be dated no more than sixty days before the date USCIS accepts it.

How long is the medical valid for? Six months from the date on which it is performed. It is important to note that the medical examination must be valid not only on the day of the visa interview, but also at the time you enter the United States on the visa.

We generally consider a completed Form I-693 to retain its evidentiary value for 2 years after the date the civil surgeon signed it. We have removed the requirement that the applicant submit their underlying immigration benefit application no more than 60 days after the civil surgeon's signature on Form I-693.

Civil surgeons no longer have to sign Form I-693 no more than 60 days before the underlying application for an immigration benefit is filed.
