CMS develops Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and Conditions for Coverage (CfCs) that health care organizations must meet in order to begin and continue participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Revisions to these requirements were released on September 28, 2016 and became effective as of November 28, 2016. CMS previously released a version of Appendix PP that incorporated the new regulations into the SOM.
