The RG-6 is primarily used for cable and satellite signal transmission for residential or commercial installations.

RG59 coax cable is house cable used for installation of basic cable and for connections between TV, VCR and satellite. RG6 coax cable is a stronger grade of coax cable that is used for satellite transmission.

cat 6 is an 8 wire cable with Ethernet ports used mainly for computers and Internet connectivity with switches/hubs; routers, gateways, servers, etc. rg6 cable was for radio and television use… until the Internet was introduced to the mix.

The RG11 cable will give you a better signal at its end compared to the end of the RG6 when given a specific length of cable. Meanwhile, noticeable attenuation will only happen to the RG11 cable once you start using longer RG11 cables since the signal travels longer distances, leading to attenuation.

Use RG-6 for short cable runs. Use RG-11 for outdoor projects at long lengths. It has less loss. Use RG-59 only if you have a hunk on hand and nothing else.

RG-6 cable was designed to fulfil this requirement. It has a larger conductor, which provides a much better signal quality, and the dielectric insulation is thicker.

RG6 has a heavier wire gauge, and its shielding can support the higher bandwidth. RG59 on the other hand, is thinner as compared to the RG6 cable. If your applications can run at a lower frequency, then you should go for an RG59 coax cable.
