For the purposes of the HES Framework, 'research training' is a formal course of graduate study leading to the acquisition of advanced skills, techniques, and knowledge in the conduct of research.

Previously, this training was only required for undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Faculty and other senior personnel who are supported by NSF to conduct research are now required to complete this training.

We see the most seriously ill and injured patients in our emergency department— patients are seen by severity of medical need and not necessarily in order of arrival. Initial tests or treatments may be ordered based on the triage nurse's assessment.
