Because Form RPD-41071, and the required attachments cannot be submitted electronically, you must promptly submit those paper forms and attachments separately. All taxpayers may be eligible for a tax credit equal to 10% of the federal earned income tax credit, and low- and middle-income taxpayers may receive an income exemption up to $2,500 if income less than $36,667; $55,000 if married filing jointly.

File amended returns using the PIT-1 form for the appropriate tax year. Mark the “amended” checkbox or write “amended” at the top of the form. For these years do not file an amended return on Form PIT-X. The Department cannot accept a return filed on Form PIT-X for a year that begins before January 1, 2005.

New Mexico has a graduated individual income tax, with rates ranging from 1.70 percent to 5.90 percent. New Mexico also has a 4.8 percent to 5.9 percent corporate income tax rate.

It would give $750 to single tax filers and $1,500 to married individuals filing joint returns, heads of households, and surviving spouses. The rebates would be based on 2021 returns, rather than 2022 returns to make processing faster.
