This regulation prescribes the Department of the Army (DA) policy, procedures, and authority/responsibility for administering civilian employee disciplinary and adverse actions.

Failing to go to where the service member is assigned at the assigned time is a crime under Article 86 and violations are subject to punishments. The punishment for this is confinement for one month, reduction to the lowest enlisted grade, and forfeiture of two-thirds pay per month for one month.

Relief for Cause evaluation reports are governed by AR 623-3. Although any commander may temporarily suspend a subordinate, action to relieve a commander will not be taken until after obtaining written approval from the first General Officer (GO) in the chain of command of the commander being relieved.
