All teachers in the State of Virginia must hold a Bachelor's degree or specialized technical credential to be eligible for a teaching license.

iteach is a non-college program accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation focused on offering aspiring potential educators an accessible and affordable opportunity to earn their teaching certification in Virginia.

Individuals who hold a Virginia teaching license and/or a Bachelor's degree or higher will be compensated at a rate of $65.72 per hour. Individuals who do not hold a Virginia teaching license and/or a college degree will be compensated at a rate of $26.76 per hour.

Timeline: Complete applications are processed at the ESC and sent to Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) within about 2-3 weeks after the degree has posted on the transcript. During off-peak seasons, licenses are processed by the VDOE in approximately 4-6 weeks.
