Each approved ESTA application is generally valid for two years and allows multiple visits to the U.S. within that period without having to apply for another travel approval. If your passport expires in less than two years, you will receive an ESTA approval valid until the passport's expiration date.

 You can update all information on the form, except the passport number and country of citizenship. If you have made a mistake in your passport information you will need to submit a new application and await the approval of the visa. Make sure that you do not make any incorrect entries.

The status can be retrieved by entering the personal passport number, the date of birth and the application number. If the application number can no longer be found, this can be circumvented. In this case, the button "I do not know the application number" must first be clicked.

Applicants may also update their destination addresses or itineraries should they change after their ESTA has been approved, although this will not be required.

Students may view their U.S. travel history online through the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Website (https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94). (Please note that the travel history is different from the I-94 record used to provide proof of legal entry to the U.S.)
