The Ecodesign Directive (Directive 2009/125/EC) of the European Union establishes a framework to set mandatory ecological requirements for energy-using and energy-related products sold in all 27 member states.

This Regulation lays down public health and animal health rules for animal by-products and derived products, in order to prevent and minimise risks to public and animal health arising from those products, and in particular to protect the safety of the food and feed chain.

WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE DIRECTIVE? It aims to ensure information* and consultation* rights on transnational issues for staff in Community-scale companies* (with at least 1,000 employees) or groups of companies*.
