Position is responsible for performing circulation, reader's advisory, and other public service functions for the Library Department, including providing information, instruction, and assistance to patrons, answering inquiries, requests, and complaints, and providing technical assistance in other areas as needed.

Identifies and retrieves materials from the Reserves Collection for library patrons and reshelves them when returned. Assists patrons in using the copy card machines and photocopiers. Answers Circulation Desk telephone as necessary and gives basic information or directs the question to appropriate staff or librarian.

Circulation services at the Service Desk provide the lending of library materials during all hours of library operation. Library staff are available to answer questions and help you locate books and other materials in the library including reserves, old exams, and study aids.

Circulation policies define the loan rules when an item is checked out. The policies are applied based on factors including the item's circulation modifier, shelving location, and the patron's permission profile.
