Wisconsin Altoona – No maximum number, permit required. Antigo – Maximum 2 hens. Ashland – Maximum 6 hens on plots of up to 5 acres, up to 100 on larger plots, permit required. Baraboo – No maximum number, roosters allowed. Beloit – Up to 20 on a five acre plot, limits on smaller plots, permit required.

(3) The keeping of female chickens is permitted in all single-family residential districts provided that the lot area is one acre or greater in size. (4) A maximum of 5 adult female chickens per acre may be kept for non-commercial use.

One property is limited to the keeping or harboring of up to five (5) chickens. A person may only own, keep or harbor chickens on property being used as a one-family dwelling (single family) or two-family dwelling (duplex). No person shall keep any rooster.

No roosters will allowed under the ordinance and a license will have to obtained by the city, with the license costing $50. The ordinance requires chickens to be kept in a waterproof, rodent-proof and predator-proof coop in a fenced in area.

Chicken Rules Chickens may not be acquired, kept, or harbored until a valid permit has been issued. Roosters are prohibited. Slaughtering is prohibited. Chickens must be kept in the coop or run at all times.

Beloit's people are well- in the arts with The Wright Museum of Art, Logan Museum of Anthropology, and a symphonic orchestra. The city is also home to the Minnesota Twins' minor league baseball team, the Beloit Snappers.

A building permit is required under the Florida Building Code if the coop exceeds 100 square feet. The coop shall not exceed a maximum of 200 square feet. Coop and enclosure shall be covered and ventilated, and a fence enclosure/run is required.
