How to fill out the ID GED Youth Waiver Request online

Filling out the ID GED Youth Waiver Request is an important step for students aged 16 and 17 seeking to take the GED test. This guide provides clear and supportive instructions to help users navigate each section of the form effectively.

Follow the steps to complete the ID GED Youth Waiver Request form successfully.

  1. Click the ‘Get Form’ button to access and open the ID GED Youth Waiver Request in the online document editor.
  2. Begin with Part 1 if the student is homeschooled. Check the box indicating the student is homeschooled and fill in the homeschool or parent name, the withdrawal date from the last school attended, and the last grade completed. Then, skip to Part 3.
  3. If the student is not homeschooled, proceed to Part 2. Here, the previous school must verify the student’s withdrawal. Select the applicable reasons for the student’s departure from the school — for example, if they are behind in credits or are entering an employment program. This section requires the principal or school counselor's signature, title, date, phone, email, and mailing address.
  4. Next, complete Part 3 by having both the student and their parent or guardian provide their names, signatures, and dates. If the student is incarcerated, emancipated, or married, they are not required to have a parent/guardian signature, and they may submit verified digital signatures.
  5. Finally, save your completed form to ensure all information is recorded. You can then email, mail, or deliver the form in person to the local testing center where the student wishes to take the GED test.

How many questions are on the Idaho GED test? SUBJECT# OF QUESTIONSMath46Science34Language Arts462 more rows

Taking the GED® in Idaho. You must be at least 18 years old and not currently enrolled in high school to be eligible to take the GED®. If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you'll need to send a completed GED® Youth Waiver form to your selected testing center before you can schedule any tests.

To register to test for the GED®, please visit GED.com. There you can set up a user profile, view testing sites in your area, and schedule tests. Taking all four tests costs $120 total.

For those testing in-person at a Test Center: If you did not pass one of your GED® test subjects, you are given two subsequent retests, with no restrictions between retakes. If you fail the third or any subsequent retest, you must wait 60 days for your next attempt. Additional state requirements may apply.

You are able to retake the official GED exam as many times as you'd like. There is a cost to retake the exam, but our instructors and staff will help you identify the areas you need continued study time in and will help prepare you to be successful in retaking the exam, if that is necessary.

Taking the GED exam online is now possible as well. It used to be that the GED exam could only be taken at an official Idaho GED test center, but now, that has changed. To qualify for online testing, applicants must attain “Likely to Pass” (green) scores on the GED Ready practice tests.

Minimum score of 145 required to pass each section. Total passing score is 580 or higher. For ADA Accommodations in taking the GED, please visit GED's Accommodations page.
