The next California bar exam is scheduled for February 25–26, 2025. The bar exam application is now available in the Applicant Portal. The State Bar will administer this exam remotely and in person. Applicants will be asked to select their preferred method for taking this exam, between remote and in person.

If you meet the study requirements, you can skip law school and go straight to take the California bar exam. Passing the bar exam will give you a license to practice law in California. The apprenticeship program is an accessible choice since you don't need a law degree.

The State Bar issues a single-page Certificate of Standing to verify an attorney's name, bar number, admission date, current status, any name or status changes. Certificate of Good Standing requirements.I'm applying for CA Determination of Moral Character as an NY attorney applicant. It required to mail my Original NY Certificate of Good Standing to its office. Requests for certificates of good standing must be submitted electronically through the Court's electronic filing system. Application Fee also required. Certificates of good standing must be requested from the Appellate Division where the attorney was admitted. For DC you can order a certificate of good standing from the DC bar as a PDF and then forward them the original email containing the link.
