Lawyers are allowed to provide services in another state if they will not be going to courts, such as arbitration and mediation. Out-of-state lawyers can also represent clients in another state if they will be working with a local lawyer. This is allowed under the “pro hac vice” process.

How to become a multi-state lawyer. The two primary ways of being licensed in different states are (1) applying for reciprocity with other state's bars and (2) passing the bar exams in multiple states.

Here are the basic steps to make your Ohio power of attorney: Decide which type of power of attorney to make. Decide who you want to be your agent or surrogate. Decide what powers you want to give your agent or surrogate. Get a power of attorney form. Complete the form, sign it, and then have it notarized or witnessed.
