You do not need an LL.M for CA Bar. You need an LL.M. for NY Bar.Must have a foreign law degree which may have either its durational or its substantial deficiency. In California, a foreign lawyer must complete an additional 20 credits of study in an LL.M. Program, including instruction in bar-tested subjects. The Downtown Campus opened in the fall of 1974 and has a comprehensive study program including general education, college transfer and occupational education. Certificate programs can run from one semester up to two years depending on the area of study.
