The issue of which law to apply to resolve a tort case comprising elements fiom more than one jurisdiction is not an easy one. The rapid evolution in this century of new kinds of torts has exacerbated the matter.This chapter is concerned with the torts of assault, battery, false imprisonment and intimidation. Closely allied with these is a further tortious action. There are numerous specific torts including trespass, assault, battery, negligence, products liability, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. A tort causes a person to suffer loss or harm.
