Stolen property: A person who believes that another person has stolen their personal property may file a replevin action to recover possession of the property. All you have to do is fill out the writ of replevin form, pay a filing fee and post a security bond.A writ of replevin serves as a court order that provides authority to seize and return collateral to a creditor. Replevin (sometimes called revendication) is a lawsuit that allows an individual to reclaim personal property taken away unjustly or illegally. Some forms of recovery seek financial damages; however, replevin seeks to repossess a physical item itself. While repossession does not involve a formal process in court, replevin consists of getting the court to order the consumer to return the vehicle to the lender. It also requires filing an affidavit in the county or district court where the property is. Typically, creditors use the legal process of replevin to repossess property.
