The MCAD offers various avenues to file a complaint of discrimination. Under Massachusetts law, if you want to pursue your discrimination case in court, you must file your court complaint within three years of the discrimination. Complaints must be filed within 180 days of the discriminatory act with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). You must file your claim of discrimination with the MCAD within 300 days of the discriminatory conduct or practice you are complaining about. The system can be accessed at the EEOC website.
