Certain people are eligible to be exempted or excused from jury duty, such as people age 70 or older or full-time students. Court Dress Code Your clothing should be clean, neat, well-fitted, and appropriate in court. You may not wear camouflage outfits, warm-up, or jogging suits. You may not wear tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, or tops that show cleavage or reveal the abdomen. Shirts and blouses must be tucked in.

While jeans are acceptable for jury duty in most courtrooms avoid jeans with rips and tears since you will be sitting for a long time choose relaxed fit jeans with a bit of stretch for all day comfort just to be sure, check with your couthouse to continue that jeans are okay to wear.

Don't talk about the case, or issues raised by the case with anyone, including other jurors, while the trial is going on, and don't let others talk about the case in your presence, even family members. If someone insists on talking to you or another juror about the case, please report the matter to a court employee.

Male jurors are expected to wear collar, tie, and coat while female jurors pantsuit, skirt or dress ... no jeans/shorts allowed.

You might be excused altogether, or your date may be deferred (rescheduled). These accepted excuses will depend on the court that called you for jury duty. You must ask to be excused. This generally involves filling out an affidavit or calling the court.
