Amendment 4 restores the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions after they complete all terms of their sentence including parole or probation. What is Amendment 4?The Voting Restoration Amendment was the 4th proposed Constitutional Amendment on the 2018 General Election ballot. That changed in November 2018 when over five million Floridians voted in favor Amendment 4 to our state constitution. Amendment 4 maintained the existing constitutional provision that permitted a law requiring parents to be notified before a minor can receive an abortion. Ballot Summary: No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary. Florida voters will get the chance to vote on six amendments in the upcoming election. We break down what each amendment is. For any other felony conviction in Florida, a person is eligible to register and vote if the person has completed all terms of his or her sentence. Amendment 4 would make abortion under certain circumstances a state constitutional right and end the sixweek ban on the procedure.
