Make sure you equip silver shroud hat and coat and equip the silver machine gun. Turn on silver shroud radio and leave it on for the quest duration. Then walk to ally between hotel and memory den to find a crouching man kill him and it should work. I had the same problem.
IIRC the easiest way to do the quest is just to sneak into the house immediately to your left as you enter, steal the computer password from the end table left of the door, then go to the house at the end of the settlement, where you see the jail cells, and use the password on the computer.
Hence, if your Fallout 4 keeps crashing, try disabling antivirus programs installed on your computer to see if it works. If it runs properly after disabling antivirus software, add Fallout 4 into the exception option in the antivirus software.
Like most other bugs/glitches, quicksave and restart game. If that doesn't work just load an earlier save. Like they say, save early and often.
Hey found the solution on the Steam forum. Enable the option ``Dialogue Camera'' under Options->Display. Worked for me. Finally I can make some progress.
Kent will give you occasional upgrades to the Silver Shroud outfit if you can keep him alive. You got to be quick to take out Sinjin, Best option is to bring a very power sniper weapon and VATS him in the face as fast as you can.

I was able to complete it but get the bug where the "search body for clues" objective can't be fulfilled. I killed Northy and it tells me to search his body.I did that and found the holotape telling me that Kent had been kidnapped. The Silver Shroud is a side quest in Fallout 4. Contents. I have a different problem with this quest line. After I killed Northy I checked his body for clues and listened to the tape. Use VATS to take him out. Be sure to leave calling cards on both of their corpses. The best path to make sure that Kent lives while subduing all the enemies is to role play as the Shroud through all conversational options. 4 After assembling all the chief priests and experts in the law , he asked them where the Christ was to be born .
