Section 15-12-122 - Demand of jury panels from which to select jury in civil actions in the state courts and the superior courts. Courts may call on local residents to serve as jurors for a trial.Jury service is a civic responsibility and legal obligation for all citizens. To pick a jury for a trial, attorneys ask questions of potential jurors in hopes of selecting an impartial juror. This is called voir dire. It means that you have been selected to participate in one of a citizen's most sacred privileges and provides you with an opportunity to do a patriotic duty. You will fill out a jury questionnaire and receive an ID tag to insure that YOU are indeed the person called. By serving on a jury, a citizen has a direct hand in the administration of justice. Or, fill out our quick contact form and we'll call you back. When your panel is called, you and others will participate in an examination process called "voir dire" (a French phrase meaning "to speak the truth").
