A physician's letter or medical form is required for excusal/postponement from jury duty for medical reasons. Other reasons for excusal/postponement are reviewed and evaluated pursuant to court policy. Jurors receive a prompt response in writing or by email upon submitting excusal / postponement requests.
The Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts provides each county with a county-specific list of potential jurors. The AOPC has received information from the Departments of Human Services, Transportation, Revenue, and State. Names are then chosen randomly from the list provided.
You must file a Notice of Appeal in the Court of Common Pleas (where the order from which you are appealing was entered). You must serve a copy of the Notice of Appeal on the other parties, the court reporter, the Court Administrator and the judge who entered the order.
Disqualification Policy is unable to read, write, speak and understand the English language; is incapable, by reason of mental or physical infirmity, to render efficient jury service; and/or. has been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year and has not been granted a pardon or amnesty.

Your name was randomly selected from county voter registration lists. Other courts do use motor vehicle lists and other source lists. The ONLY requirement for serving on a jury is that you MUST be 18 years of age and you MUST be a U.S. Citizen. You will not be excused simply by stating you are not a registered voter.
