Clinical trials are research studies that explore whether a medical strategy, treatment, or device is safe and effective for humans. Community trials address the efficacy of preventive interventions applied at the group level (e.g., a social marketing campaign trial). This summer, Penn State student Neila Raveen helped conduct clinical research at the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Research Institute.
