This document provides guidance regarding the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act as they apply to pregnant workers. Pregnancy discrimination is against the law.The EEOC enforces three federal laws that protect job applicants and employees who are pregnant. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 forbids employers from discriminating based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
