The Supreme Court found that Hennepin County violated the Takings Clause when it seized a taxpayers' home, sold it, and retained the entire proceeds. Abdi commenced this action on May 5, 2023, alleging that Hennepin County discriminated against him on the basis of his disability, race and national origin.Minnesota Secretary of State. The panel found that Hennepin County had engaged in a discriminatory employment practice, and issued a cease and desist order. In the landmark 1954 case Brown v. Board of Education, the U.S. Supreme Court set forth a constitutional obligation for desegregation across the United States. The case will continue forward in the Hennepin County District Court.
