The purposes of this Act are-- (1) to provide appropriate remedies for intentional discrimination and unlawful harassment in the workplace; Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.Allows compensatory and punitive damages for intentional employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability.
