The law has been long settled that the equal protection clause of the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment prohibit sex discrimination in government workplaces. Title VII is a federal law prohibiting discrimination in the workplace. Under this amendment to Title VII, it is also unlawful for an employer to retaliate an employee who exercises her rights under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.
