Note: You must make a report if, in the course of learning of past abuse of someone who is now an adult, you learn or suspect abuse of anyone who is currently a Minor.

Civil statute of limitations for adults is capped at 2 years after the offense was committed. House Bill 962 extends the civil statute of limitations for child victims to age 55 and removes the sovereign and government immunity going forward.

Mandatory Reporting Employees and administrators of nursing homes, personal care homes, domiciliary care homes, adult day care centers and home health care are mandated by Act 13 of 1997 to immediately report any suspected abuse of a recipient of care to the Area Agency on Aging.

It is declared the policy of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that older adults who lack the capacity to protect themselves and are at imminent risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment shall have access to and be provided with services necessary to protect their health, safety and welfare.
