March 2023. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides job-protected leave from work for family and medical reasons. This fact sheet explains the medical certification process when an employee requests leave for their own or a family member's serious health condition, if requested by the employer.

If they want to know details all they need to do is read the Certification that my doctor fills out explaining that I need the time off.
