The Alameda County Board of Supervisors is the five member non-partisan governing board of Alameda County, California. Members of the Board of supervisors are elected from districts, based on their residence.

The five-member Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the County of Los Angeles. Created by the state Legislature in 1852, the Board has executive, legislative and quasi-judicial roles. Members are elected by voters in their respective districts and are limited to three four-year terms.

County services are provided to the citizens by more than 9,900 employees working in 21 different agencies and departments.

Within the broad limits established by the State Constitution, State General Law, and the Alameda County Charter, the Board exercises both the legislative and the executive functions of government. The Board of Supervisors is also the governing body for a number of "special districts" within Alameda County.

In general, the role of the board is to provide high-level oversight of corporate activities and performance, while some individual board members may take on more involved or activist roles.

The primary purpose of board meetings is to provide oversight, make key strategic decisions, and ensure accountability.

Persons wishing to address the Board in person may obtain, complete, and submit a speaker slip to the Clerk. Select meeting type, month, and year to find meetings, agendas, and minutes.You can find all Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meetings here. Upcoming Meetings (City Council, Boards and Commissions). All upcoming agenda are available online here or subscribe to receive agendas via email here. A quorum of Directors and a quorum of Members is established regardless if the required number of individuals turn up at the meeting. INPERSON PARTICIPATION: The meeting site is open to the public. All in-person participants must adhere to posted health. Regular meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 5 pm. The audio is strictly for the secretary to help her draft the minutes and after the minutes are distributed to audio has to be destroyed.
