This should go without saying, but you never have to enter the courtroom without a lawyer by your side. If you cannot afford your own lawyer, the court will appoint one for you. While many people do attempt to represent themselves in court, this is often ill-advised for certain types of trials.

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, any party shall be entitled as a matter of right to complete discovery proceedings on or before the 30th day, and to have motions concerning discovery heard on or before the 15th day, before the date initially set for the trial of the action.

(b) Unless otherwise ordered or specifically provided by law, all moving and supporting papers shall be served and filed at least 16 court days before the hearing. The moving and supporting papers served shall be a copy of the papers filed or to be filed with the court.

Motions: 16 court days before hearing (+5 calendar days for mailing). If the mailing deadline (16+5 days) has passed, but there are still more than 16 court days before the hearing, you can have it served by personal delivery. If you miss the service deadline entirely, you will need to re-schedule your motion.

The deadline to file a Motion for Reconsideration will be a certain period of time after the judge has issued the order that you would like to have reconsidered or after you are served with the order, often between 14 and 30 days. You may want to speak with a lawyer in your state about the time line to file a motion.

(a) Motion and opposition (2) A motion must be accompanied by a memorandum and, if it is based on matters outside the record, by declarations or other supporting evidence. (3) Any opposition must be served and filed within 15 days after the motion is filed.

Tentative rulings in law and motion matters may be issued prior to the hearing at the discretion of the assigned judge. San Diego LR 2.1. 19 (C).

The runway, built of asphalt and concrete, measures 9,401 by 200 feet (2,865 m × 61 m). Each end has a displaced threshold: on Runway 27, the first 1,810 feet (550 m) are displaced, while the first 1,000 feet (300 m) are displaced on Runway 9. Westerly winds predominate, so most takeoffs and landings use Runway 27.

San Diego County Superior Court Rule 2.1. 15 states, "A trial readiness conference generally will be scheduled for four weeks before the trial date." The trial readiness conference is an opportunity for the parties to attempt to resolve the case, or at least limit the issues for trial.
