Future changes: California has a waiver in place for work requirements through October 31, 2024. Come November 1st, 2024, able bodied adults between the ages of 18 to 54 without children or dependents living with them will have to show that they have worked at least 80 hours a month to qualify for Cal Fresh benefits.

If you have a CalWORKs and CalFresh renewal due, use the Form SAWS 2 Plus to complete your renewal for both programs. Blank CF 37 and SAWS 2 Plus Forms are also available at Alameda County Social Services Agency offices.

In order to keep receiving CalFresh benefits, you will need to submit mandatory reports. The Semi-Annual Report or SAR7 is due 6 months after your application date. The Recertification Report is due 12 months after your application date.

Annual Report (SAR 7 or 'Periodic Report') is a form that updates your county about changes to your situation. You must fill it out 6 months after you apply, even if you don't have changes to report. The county will use it to determine if you're still eligible for CalFresh.
