Arizona law (A.R.S. § 15-803) states that 'It is unlawful for any child between six and sixteen years of age to fail to attend school during the hours school is in session. ' So, a kid must be over 16 years of age to legally drop out of school.

The withdrawal letter should go to the school district where the student attended. Families need to send this letter, so schools know the child isn't truant.

A student who may or must withdraw from school must complete a withdrawal form. The withdrawal form shall state the reason for withdrawal. The withdrawal form will be signed by the parent and principal or designee from the school. Documentation will be maintained in the former student's file.

Foreign corporation registered in Arizona: There are two withdrawal forms. If your foreign corporation has conducted business or issued stock in Arizona, provide the completed form, CF: 0025, Application for Withdrawal of Foreign Corporation and an exact copy to the Commission by mail, fax or in person.
