In an at will state such as Ohio or Virginia, you can rescind an offer at any time, as the offer is always considered to be at will. To cancel the contract, the consumer may sign and date the form and mail it to the address provided for cancellation.Talk to your real estate agent or lawyer about your exact rights under the contract, both before signing it and if it turns out that you need to cancel. Under Ohio law, a person receiving unrequested merchandise may keep it without payment. Rescind the offer in a straightforward manner, providing the legitimate reasons for the withdrawal. You can withdraw from the offer if the seller thinks your offer is low. If they come back to you a few months later you sign a new contract. Act quickly to notify the candidate when you become aware that an offer must be withdrawn so that his losses are minimized. Offers must be in writing to be legally binding in Ohio. 3d (1978), Attorneys At Law, Section 164.
