For decades, it has been considered an "axiom of federal and Florida law that written agreements to arbitrate are binding and enforceable. The ICA Court was created in response to a heightened demand for an alternative forum for resolving international disputes involving commercial transactions.Until the 1925 enactment of the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), 9 U.S.C. §§1-14, courts were reluctant to enforce contracts to arbitrate disputes.
