To confirm an arbitration award under the FAA or the Connecticut arbitration law, a party must file an application seeking judicial confirmation of the award. The Federal Arbitration Act.("FAA") and some state laws provide the reasons why an award can be vacated (thrown out), modified (changed), or corrected. A party may petition the Board to modify or vacate an arbitral award. The Appeal Procedure (Rule 8.2) establishes relatively narrow grounds for appeal beyond the statutory grounds under Section 10 of the Federal Arbitration Act.
