Although Scripture does not contain an explicit command to formally join a local church, the biblical foundation for church membership permeates the New Testament.
Membership is not “in the Bible.” Local church membership is not the eleventh commandment, or an additional beatitude, or an extra verse in some obscure manuscript tradition. But kind of like the doctrine of the Trinity, we'll see that local church membership is a good and necessary consequence of what's in the Bible.
You are commanded to be a member of a local church, and to worship and fellowship with your church every Lord's Day (Hebrews -25).
