A board may hold a special meeting after giving notice as prescribed in the bylaws. A public notice stating the date, time, and place of the meeting shall be posted at least 18 hours before the meeting in a prominent and conspicuous place.Section 450.1521 - Regular or special meetings of board (1) Regular or special meetings of a board may be held either in or outside this state. (4) Business shall not be transacted at a special meeting of the township board unless the business has been stated in the notice of the meeting. Michigan law does not require open meetings but our bylaws say meetings board should be open. According to MCLs 41.72a and 41.97, a general law township supervisor, if present, shall be the moderator of a reg- ular or special meeting of the township. For example, the requirements of notice of a meeting of the board of directors is to be described in a corporation's bylaws. Copies of approved resolutions shall be sent to all member boards at least 30 days prior to the annual or special meeting. Section 3. Adoption. For a change in the schedule of regular meetings of a public body, notice shall be posted within three days of the meeting.
