When a company does business in a state, it's required to register with state agencies — typically the state's Secretary of State. The process through which a company files information and documents to register as a business in that state is known as a Secretary of State (SOS) filing.

You must serve the Plaintiff's Claim to a Corporation, LLC, or LP doing business in California through their Agent for Service. An Agent for Service is the person or business that the Corporation, LLC, or LP has chosen to accept court papers. You can also serve an officer of a Corporation, LLC, or LP.

Personal Service: Pursuant to FRCP Rule 45(b)(1) a subpoena must be personally delivered to the person whose attendance is required by the subpoena. A person who serves the subpoena must be at least 18 years of age. A person who serves the subpoena cannot be a party to the proceeding under which the subpoena is issued.

Subpoenas for documents may be served by mail. If serving by mail add five days to the service time. Service by fax or email is only allowed if you get written permission agreeing to fax or email service from the person being served prior to the subpoena being sent.

There are 3 ways to deliver a Notice Hand deliver the Notice. This is when you, or someone else 18 or older, hands the Notice to one of the tenants. Give the Notice to another adult in the home or where your tenant works and mail a copy to the tenant. Post and mail the Notice.

You can have this served by mail to the consumer/employee's last-known address, or by personal service if you are low on time. The person who is serving the Notice for you must complete the proof of service on the back of the original Notice to Consumer or Employee and Objection (SUBP-025).

Meetings must: Be noticed in advance; Include only business described in the agenda; Take place within agency boundaries; Be completely accessible by the public. Notice and agenda for regular meeting must be: Posted 72 hours in advance; Posted in an accessible location; Mailed to persons who request notice.

If the documents include consumer or employee of the person or business on the subpoena, you have to give notice to the consumer or employee at least five days (or longer if the notice is by mail) before you serve the subpoena on the witness.
