A: In order to qualify for NJHS, students have to meet the requirement of a minimum of a 3.7 cumulative GPA. Applications for membership will start after quarter 1 grades have been finalized to let students know if their grades are applicable for Rio's NJHS requirements.

The primary requirement for the NJHS is a minimum GPA of 3.5. Grades earned during the 1st and 2nd quarter of 8th grade are calculated. Grades earned during 7th grade are not included.

To get into NJHS you need to have volunteered, taken up leadership skills and maintained a 3.5 GPA. You also need to know what would make you a great NJHS member. On your application, there will be a space for you to list your volunteer opportunities that you have done.

This letter should be short (no more than 50-60 words). It should address how you feel this student exemplifies the qualities of leadership, citizenship, and/or character and how he/she would represent Whitesboro Middle School in a positive way.
