The California court system uses forms. The term "pleading paper" is often used to describe the format of a document that is filed with the Court when a premade form is not available.Civil ; Form Number. There are currently no case types designated for mandatory efiling. Sample pleading forms can located at the law library in practice guides such as the Forms of Pleading and Practice. Pleading paper is available at the law library or through Microsoft Word. Individual California Superior Court pleading templates and forms can now be purchased separately from CalPleadings. For every PDF uploaded, most courts require the first page to have a caption with all pertinent case information. Designated cases will be listed in the General Order on the court's eFiling page. We have created a sample template for use in the United States Southern District Court of California.
