To truly confess your sins, it's very simple: Pray to God. Pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ His Son. It is not just requesting, but passionately appealing. In pleading, we are making our case before God as to why He should grant our prayer request. At first, this can seem awkward or inappropriate.
The principle of keeping our words in agreement with God is key to our living a victorious life in Him. It is essentially what the writer of Hebrews meant when he wrote, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews ).
Come into agreement with God. This means seeing things as God sees them, seeing people as God sees them, studying the Word of God and doing as the Word says, obeying the Holy Spirit when He convicts us of something, trusting in God with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength.
What is Pleading? Pleading with God is that part of prayer (a subset of supplication) in which we argue our case with God, as Isaac Watts wonderfully says, “in a fervent yet humble manner.” It is not just petition, but petition well-reasoned. It is not just requesting, but passionately appealing.
What does it mean to “agree in the Lord”? You don't need to agree on everything, but agreeing in the Lord means that you value the things that you agree upon because of your shared connection to Christ more than you value the things that you disagree upon.
Walking uprightly before God will bring an agreement; the individual is agreeing with God's word to live by them. Walking in agreement with the Word of God will also bring blessings (If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land – Isaiah ). There is a time to agree and a time to disagree.
