Is cell biology tough?

Cell biologists are scientists who try to understand how cells function and interact at the molecular level and extrapolate this knowledge to explain the biology of whole organisms. The major is built on a curriculum of didactic and laboratory classes.

Molecular and Cellular Biology is one of the toughest majors at UC Berkeley. Majority of the students declaring this major are those that are wanting to go to graduate healthcare schools (optometry, dentistry, etc.) and/or medical schools.

Steps to studying Cellular Biology & Histology (in order) Go to class. Depending on how familiar you are with the material, you may choose not to go to class. Read a text. Make an outline of the lecture. Make flashcards. Review images. Do questions.

A Cell Biologist studies plant and animal life and conducts research to understand cells and cell systems. May teach cell biology or specialize in clinical research, cell culture, medical research and treatment, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or plant research.
