The public can also access court documents from public access computer terminals at any Minnesota district (county) courthouse or at the Minnesota State Law Library. The availability of court records is governed by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch.
When a testator dies, an “interested party” may ask to get a copy by filing a written request along with a death certificate for the testator. Use the Request for Access to Confidential or Sealed Record to make a request. Explain your relationship to the testator and why you want a copy of the Will.

If you are interested in obtaining a will filed in Hennepin (including Minneapolis), Marshall, or St. Louis (including Duluth) counties, please contact that county's court records or court administration department.
Original wills are are found in probate case files, and certified copies can be obtained from county probate courts. We have Will Books for most Minnesota counties, though the dates covered by the books varies by individual county.
You can find out at the county clerk's office where the executor filed the paperwork. Once you know where the probate is, search that county's . gov website for the deceased person's name. You can also get access to information related to the Will if it has gone through the probate process and become public record.
